How to Do the Babydoll Dance

· 6 min de lectura

The Babydoll dance is a two-step to Jamie Miller's song "Babydoll". In the clip this guide follows, he and two friends in black suits hold hands and step down a sunny sidewalk toward the camera, then let go, kick and hop. People learned it for parties and family videos through October 2026. This guide covers where that clip sits in the trend, every beat of the 14 seconds, the photos you need, the one-photo way, and what goes wrong.

What the Babydoll dance is

Know Your Meme dates "Babydoll" to 7 August 2026 and filed the dance as a TikTok trend on 19 October 2026. The wider trend is a beginner two-step that people film with friends, parents and at weddings. Those videos are not all the same routine.

This maker follows one post. On 16 August 2026 Jamie Miller (@jamiemillmusic) filmed the sidewalk version: three people in a row, a dark sports car at the left curb, the camera walking backward. By 17 October that post had 6.6 million plays. The full post is 30 seconds. The template uses the 14 seconds from just after the opening huddle through the hop.

The 14 seconds, beat by beat

It is one continuous take. Nobody cuts in. The phone walks backward at about chest height, and all three stay in frame from head to shoes.

TimeWhat they doWhere the camera is
0–2 sThe side dancers lean out, arms wide, then all three start forwardAlready walking backward
2–6 sHands linked, a two-step, arms swinging on the beatPast the trees and the parked sports car
6–8 sThey let go. Wide stance, knees bent, hands near the chestStill backing up
8–11 sPeace signs, a kick to the side, then a point and arms thrown outFull bodies, slight handheld sway
11–14 sThey keep stepping, then hop with one knee up and an arm in the airThey land facing the lens

The hop is the ending. If a version runs long, shorten the steps in the middle. Do not cut the hop.

What you need

  • One photo of you, in the centre. Face clearly visible. Full body is better, because the shot shows head to shoes and keeps the clothes from the photo.
  • Up to two friends, one on your left and one on your right. Each person gets their own photo. A group photo puts the wrong face on every dancer.
  • Adults who agreed. Your photo, or a friend, parent or grandparent who said yes. Not a celebrity, and not a child. Jamie Miller's photo is not allowed.
  • No pets. The handhold needs people. A dog or cat does not stay in the row.

The one-photo way

  1. Open the maker

Go to the Babydoll dance AI video generator. The sidewalk, the backward camera and the 14 seconds are already set.

  2. Add yourself

Your photo is the centre. Add a friend on the left, a friend on the right, or both. An empty side becomes a dancer in a black suit, white shirt and sunglasses, with an invented face.

  3. Choose the sound

Trend sound lays the clip's stretch of "Babydoll" under the video from the first frame. No song leaves street sounds, so you can add the official sound inside TikTok and attach the post to the trend.

  4. Generate and post

Pick the quality and press Generate. Download the 14-second vertical MP4, post it with #babydoll, credit @jamiemillmusic and label it as AI-generated. A failed video is refunded.

Who stands where

There is one setting, the sidewalk in the clip. The choice is the row.

PhotoPlaceIf you leave it empty
1, requiredCentre, the middle of the handhold and the point before the hopYou always upload this one
2, optionalOn your leftAn invented adult with short dark hair, in a black suit and sunglasses
3, optionalOn your rightAn invented adult with curly hair, in a black suit and sunglasses

The two empty-side dancers are described differently on purpose. If both sides are invented and described the same way, the model makes twins.

Try sample fills all three slots with AI-generated headshots, not real people. A full-body photo of someone you know holds the outfit better than those headshots.

Photo advice

  • Face the camera. A sharp, daylight, front-facing photo. Sunglasses in the photo stay on in the video. The clip's sunglasses are not added to you unless you are wearing them.
  • Show the outfit. A black suit and an open white collar is the look of the side dancers. The centre of the clip wears a bow tie. You only get that if your photo has it.
  • One person per file. No second face in the background, or that face leaks onto a dancer.
  • Skip the sample if you care about the clothes. The samples are head-and-shoulders. The model has to guess the body and the outfit.

Do it yourself, without this template

A prompt and a photo will give you three people dancing somewhere sunny. It will not give you this camera, this car or this hop. Use a model that accepts a reference video, such as Seedance 2.0, and give it the sidewalk clip plus your photos.

  • Trim first. The post is 30 seconds and most models stop at 15. Use the stretch that starts just after the huddle and ends on the hop.
  • Say who replaces whom. Centre, left, right, and an invented black-suit dancer for any side with no photo. Say the faces come from your photos, not from the three people in the clip.
  • Ask for clean hands during the handhold, and for no yellow captions. The captions are burned into the clip, and models copy them if you say nothing.
  • Put the song on last, from the first frame, so the hop matches the music. Or add the official sound in TikTok.

The clip it follows

One post is the motion source. It belongs to Jamie Miller, and it was not made here. The card plays the full post. The player at the top of the template plays the 14-second stretch.

Had to hit the babydoll two step

Preguntas frecuentes

Is this the only Babydoll dance?

No. The song picked up a lot of two-step videos in October 2026. This guide and the template follow the 16 August sidewalk clip, the one with three people in a row and the camera walking backward.

Do I need three photos?

No. One is enough. You are in the centre, and each empty side gets a dancer in a black suit. Add friends only for the sides you want to be real people.

Why is the video 14 seconds when the post is longer?

The post is 30 seconds and starts with a huddle. The template starts just after that huddle and ends on the hop. That is the two-step people recognise, and it fits the model's length.

Can I use a photo of Jamie Miller?

No. Dance as yourself, or with adults who agreed. Celebrity photos and photos of children are not allowed.

Does the video include the song?

With Trend sound on, the stretch of "Babydoll" from the clip is laid under your video from the first frame. Turn it off if you want to add the official sound in TikTok.
